WAIS Camp Stories

In 2008 I began looking at ice core specimens, glaciers and ice sheets to explore metaphors about the deep memory of the world and the frailty of our ecosystems. Ice offers symbolic stories of the planet and our effect on that story through millennia. This work explores the micro scale of ice cores and the macro scale of the ice sheets and glaciated environments of West Antarctica and the Pacific Northwest.

Land Galleries

When drawing plants and land, I imagine allĀ of the human events that have occurred in a place and how each subject is altered by these events, illustrating the marks of time. In common with the scientist, I am searching for evidence; a record of memory in the land.
