Blogging at 36kbits/sec

While I am at the WAIS Divide field camp in West Antarctica, I (the entire
camp actually) will only have access to the internet via a GOES satellite
link for 5 hours a day. We can write emails upload them to the camp server
and they will automatically be sent out during that time.

My clever niece created a post-via-email tool that will allow me to send a
plain text email that will dump right into a blog post. WOW!

This is a test of that tool. Look for more of these plain posts, with more
interesting stories (but no pictures:-( ) between December 16-30. The rest
of my trip I will have larger bandwidth and be able to send pictures and
upload video. Ain’t life in the digital age miraculous!
